Music with a Mission

Founded in 2004, the Center for Irish Music has grown into a thriving community music school that serves more than 335 enrolled students each year with a course schedule that includes everything from individual lessons in more than a dozen traditional Irish instruments, to growing ensemble groups and intergenerational “trad sessions” that invite beginners and master artists to play together across the Twin Cities. Generous community support provides for more than one-fourth of CIM’s annual operations, helping to provide student scholarships, low-cost instrument rentals and outreach performances around our community. Thank you!

"Help us "Hand Down the Tradition"

And mark your calendar for Give to the Max Day on Thursday, November 16! The CIM will host our annual lunchtime trad session to “bring in the green” on Minnesota’s greatest day of giving. Bring your instrument and your lunch, and we’ll serve up piping hot tea and traditional tunes!
